I have created this website in the hope that it may help connect me with other, as yet unknown, members of my extended family. It is also a tool to enable me to keep my family up to date with my research.

I am searching for descendents of James Hancock who lived in Greenwich and was married to Sarah Parkin.

I am also searching for ancestors of my mothers side of the family. Her maiden name was Oliver and she was born in Kensington in 1947. Names and places linked to her include Robinson, Hodge, James and Charman. I have traced my mothers side back to Cornwall in the late 1600's and the Bury St Edmunds area of Suffolk in the 1800's.

I will attempt, using this website, to detail some information about the various descendents of James Hancock, Thomas Oliver and other associated families. A list of surnames linked to my family can be found by choosing the "Related names" option from the menu.

As you will see the menu is in two distinct sections, one for Oliver and one for Hancock. Both areas will have new information added as time goes by.
